Autonomous Agents in Electricity
Sarosh Talukdar and Paul Hines
ECE
Abstract
Systems of autonomous agents
(also called distributed decision-making systems, and complex adaptive
systems) have many natural and the artificial manifestations. Immune
systems, insect societies, artificial life, electric grids and economies
are some examples. In this talk, Sarosh will explain some of the open
questions in designing systems of autonomous agents, particularly,
questions about emergent behaviors, phase-transitions,
task-decomposition, and cooperation. Paul will describe
his progress in answering the questions on task-decomposition and
cooperation.
