Keynote Speaker

The keynote speaker (Friday morning) is Olukunle Iyanda, Professor of Marketing at the University of Botswana.

Professor Iyanda is an expert in the effect of multinational corporations on developing countries. He has written or edited four books and published a number of articles in this area. His research primarily concerns economic development in Nigeria, Namibia, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Zimbabwe. 

Professor Iyanda has served as Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, University of Lagos, Nigeria; Director of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Lagos; President of Polytechnic Ibadan, Nigeria; and Dean of the Management Faculty, Africa University, Mutare, Zimbabwe. He has held visiting appointments at Bayreuth University, Germany; Cranfield Institute of Technology, UK; and Montclair State College, USA. He was a member of the National University Commission in Nigeria and several other public bodies. He earned a BS degree at the University of Lagos, an MBA and PhD at the Stern School of Business, New York University, and ITP at the Centre d'Enseignement Superieur des Affaires, University of Paris. He is a native of Lagos.

Dinner Speaker 

The dinner speaker (Friday evening) is Kears Pollock, Executive Vice President (retired), PPG Industries.  

Mr. Pollock was a charter member and later chairman of the PPG Ethics Committee, where he helped develop the company's Code of Ethics.  He holds BS and MS degrees in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a law degree from Duquesne University.  Mr. Pollock held several leadership positions at PPG, most recently Executive Vice President for Coatings and Resins.  He is chairman of the National Paint and Coatings Association and received that group's prestigious George Baugh Heckel Award in 1997.  He is active in civic affairs and has served as a Trustee of Carnegie Mellon University as well as president of the school board in Hampton Township, Pennsylvania.  He is a native of Indiana, Pennsylvania.
