Tepper School of Business
Staff Recognition and Awards Committee

Staff Recognition and Awards Committee (SRAC)
By-Laws JUNE 30, 1992
(Amended March 1998, February 2006, January 2008, June 2011)

PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES

    1. To coordinate a program which will identify staff members whose job performance and dedication to the operations of Tepper over the years merits special recognition.

    2. To promote the environment within the Tepper community in which each staff member can feel a sense of belonging and ownership.

    3. To provide an additional avenue of direct liaison between staff and the rest of the Tepper community for the purpose of promoting mutual understanding and cooperation.

COMMITTEE ELIGIBILITY AND MEMBERS

    1. Any Tepper full-time faculty or staff member can serve on the SRAC after the completion of 18 months of employment at the Tepper School of Business. This gives the employee a chance to learn about the culture of the school and university and not conflict with their eligibility to be nominated for the "Rookie Award" - awarded to a 1st Year employee (following the 6 month probation period).

    2. Members are appointed to a two-year term. Consecutive terms are not permitted. One may be reappointed as a member after two years has elapsed since his/her last appointment.

    3. 5-8 voting members are required and the Director of Human Resources at Tepper serves as an Ex-Officio non-voting member.

    4. In the event any committee member cannot complete their term, their seat will remain vacant until the next full year term.

    5. If the committee, due to attrition, drops below the required five (5) members to form a quorum for voting for the SRAC awards, a member of the DIG Committee will be recruited to restore the voting quorum to five (5). DIG Committee members who have served on the SRAC Committee or the SRAC Committee within the prior two (2) years are not eligible for this duty on the SRAC.

    6. New member’s term begins on July 1 for a two-year commitment.
